Position: Qualified Plumber/Gas Fitter Wanted
Become a key player in School District No. 42 as a Plumber/Gas Fitter, ensuring safe and efficient systems for nearly 17,000 students. This role operates on a day shift, adhering to a 12-month schedule.

SD42 seeks candidates with relevant qualifications for this continuing position effective July 1, 2026. Responsibilities include maintaining and testing plumbing, gas, and heating systems, while also conducting regular inspections for preventative maintenance. Applicants must possess a Trades Qualification Certificate in Plumbing, along with a Gasfitter Class 'B' license and two years of maintenance experience. A proactive approach in reporting unsafe conditions is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and install plumbing and gas systems

• Conduct inspections and preventative maintenance

• Estimate needed materials and labor for jobs

• Manage supply orders and inventory

• Perform capital works projects as assigned

Requirements:

• Trades Qualification in Plumbing

• Gasfitter Class 'B' License required

• Minimum of two years' experience

• Strong communication skills

• Valid B.C. driver’s license
