Utilities Maintenance Worker

Contribute to the City of Maple Ridge as a full-time Utilities Maintenance Worker. Ensure the integrity of water systems, respond to service calls, and maintain high safety standards.

This role focuses on manual maintenance and repair of municipal water and sewer systems. The successful candidate oversees equipment operations, supervises staff on simpler tasks, and performs vital repairs and adjustments. A strong emphasis on safety and environmental protection is crucial for maintaining service levels in public works.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain water system equipment

• Repair fire hydrants, pumps, and related infrastructure

• Respond to service calls for utility connections

• Supervise manual maintenance tasks and staff

• Keep records of maintenance activities

Requirements:

• Grade 12 education with relevant experience

• Certification as an EOCP Water Distribution Operator Level 1

• Valid Class 3 Driver’s License with Air Brake Endorsement

• Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions

• Skills in operating maintenance tools and equipment
