We are looking for a Shop Fabricator to join our production team. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys building things, solving problems, and turning drawings and concepts into high-quality finished pieces.
Position OverviewThe Shop Fabricator will work alongside our production, project management, and design teams to fabricate custom tradeshow exhibits, experiential installations, retail displays, scenic elements, and other custom projects.
The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, comfortable using shop tools, takes pride in their workmanship, and can adapt to the variety and fast pace of custom fabrication.
This is a permanent, full-time position based in our Pitt Meadows, BC shop.
Key Responsibilities- Reporting to the Production Manager.
- Fabricate custom exhibits, displays, scenic elements, and experiential installations from drawings, plans, and project specifications.
- Work with materials including plywood, MDF, dimensional lumber, plastics, laminates, acrylic, and other specialty materials.
- Operate common woodworking and fabrication equipment, including table saws, mitre saws, routers, sanders, drills, and other power and hand tools.
- Assemble cabinetry, walls, counters, platforms, displays, signage structures, and other custom components.
- Perform finishing work including sanding, filling, laminating, painting preparation, and installation of hardware.
- Assist with application and installation of graphics and signage when required.
- Interpret shop drawings, dimensions, cut lists, and basic construction details.
- Test-fit and pre-assemble projects in the shop before they are shipped to site.
- Prepare projects for packing, shipping, and transportation.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe shop environment.
- Properly maintain and care for tools, equipment, and shop machinery.
- Work efficiently to meet project schedules and production deadlines.
- Support other members of the production team as required.
- Experience: Background in carpentry, cabinetmaking, millwork, scenic fabrication, tradeshow fabrication, construction, or a related field.

Skills:
Strong building and problem-solving skills, comfortable with a variety of power tools and shop equipment. - Precision: Ability to accurately measure, cut, assemble, and finish components; strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Drawings: Ability to read basic drawings and understand dimensions.
- Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where projects and priorities can change.
- Team Player: Able to work independently while also being a strong collaborator.
- Reliability: Organized and able to manage time effectively.
- Physical Capability: Physically capable of lifting and moving materials and working on your feet throughout the day.
- Driver’s Licence: Valid driver’s licence is an asset.
- Equipment: Forklift or other equipment experience is an asset.
