Job DescriptionThe following overview applies to all hourly store team members. Please review the detailed responsibilities and qualifications below.
Responsibilities- Operate all store equipment.
- Stock ingredients from the delivery area to storage, work area, and walk‑in cooler.
- Prepare product.
- Receive and process telephone orders.
- Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
- Clean equipment and facilities approximately daily.
- Provide orientation and on‑the‑job training.
- Accurately add, subtract, multiply, and divide; may use calculator.
- Make correct monetary change.
- Strong verbal, written, and telephone communication skills.
- Motor coordination between eyes and hands for rapid, precise movements.
- Enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions and to communicate verbally with customers and co‑workers to process orders both over the phone and in person.
Work ConditionsExposure to varying and sometimes adverse outdoor weather, temperature extremes in store (36°–90°+), hot surfaces and tools, fumes from food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped quarters, and sharp edges. Employers provide safe equipment and training to mitigate hazards.
Physical Demands- Standing: Most tasks performed standing; walking on tile, linoleum or ceramic surfaces.
- Walking: Short distances for short durations.
- Sitting: Paperwork typically completed at a desk or table.
- Lifting: Bulk product deliveries up to 50 lbs; case dimensions up to 3’x1.5’; typical lifting from floor to shelves up to 72” high.
- Carrying: Items ranging 3 lbs to 30 lbs, such as pizza sauce, dough trays (approx. 12 lbs each), and cardboard pizza boxes.
- Pushing/Pulling: Trays on dollies (24”–30”) requiring up to 7.5 lbs of force.
- Climbing / Stairs: Infrequent navigation of stairs or ladders for maintenance.
- Bending / Stooping / Squatting: Forward bending (~30–45 sec) at the pizza assembly station and front counter; stacking low shelving.
- Reaching: Continuous reach above 72” up, down, and forward for oven controls, price adjustments, and cleaning tasks.
- Hand Tasks: Continuous use of hands and wrists for dough handling, pizza cook‑out, and box assembly.
- Deliver product by car to customer mailboxes; deliver flyers and door hangers.
- Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record and access to an insured vehicle required.
- Navigational skills: read maps, locate addresses within a designated delivery area, and navigate adverse terrain.
- Physical demands: carry pizzas, sides, and beverages while walking, climbing, and driving. Delivery personnel travel between store and vehicle and to customer locations, potentially navigating five or more flights of stairs.
- Work conditions include exposure to varying weather during delivery, night driving, and vehicle operation hazards.
