Mapleton City, Utah
Full-Time | Administration Department
Salary Range: $67,416 – $101,125 annually
Hiring Range: $67,416 – $94,383

Position Overview

Mapleton City is seeking a skilled, collaborative, and service-oriented Human Resource Coordinator to lead and coordinate citywide human resource operations. This key leadership role supports employees, advises management, and ensures compliance with state and federal employment laws.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage citywide HR operations including recruitment, onboarding, classification, compensation, performance management, employee relations, training, and benefits administration.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws and public records requirements.
  • Advise department heads and supervisors on personnel matters including discipline, promotions, terminations, grievances, and performance issues.
  • Oversee employee investigations and coordinate with legal counsel when necessary.
  • Administer and negotiate employee benefit programs including retirement, insurance, wellness, and workers’ compensation.
  • Manage formal recruitment processes and ensure fair, policy-compliant hiring practices.
  • Coordinate employee engagement, recognition, and wellness programs.
  • Assist with HR budgeting and compensation planning to maintain competitive and fiscally responsible compensation structures.
  • Update and maintain job descriptions, policy manuals, and employee handbooks.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Public Administration, or a related field; AND two (2) years of professional HR management experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Highly Desirable
  • Experience working in municipal or other government settings.
  • Knowledge of Utah public employment laws and regulations.
  • Experience with public sector recruitment, classification, and compensation systems.
