The Global Channel Manager for Industrial Adhesives & Specialty Tapes (IATD) is a strategic, enterprise‑minded leader responsible for shaping and advancing 3M’s global channel strategy. This role will own and elevate the 3M™ Preferred Adhesive Distributor (PAD) Program
, drive global channel excellence, and build scalable systems and programs that expand growth and preference for 3M within our most capable distribution partners. The leader will partner closely with global business units, Area Channel Leaders, and GIC leadership to optimize execution, replicate best practices, remove barriers, and develop the next generation of channel‑led growth initiatives for the Adhesives & Specialty Tape (AST) portfolio.
This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military experience to a 3M career.
The Impact You’ll Make in this RoleKey Responsibilities 1. Global Channel Strategy & PAD Program Leadership
- Serve as the strategic owner of the 3M™ Preferred Adhesive Distributor (PAD) Program
, ensuring it continually evolves to deliver value to both 3M and participating partners. - Strengthen PAD partner engagement by enhancing program governance, capability development, performance expectations, and value‑exchange models.
- Identify and prioritize partners with the technical capability to write and influence end‑user specifications
, ensuring they lead with 3M solutions in critical applications. - Drive continuous improvement of the PAD Program through structured feedback loops, KPIs, and cross‑regional alignment.
- Lead a global community of Area Channel Leaders
, facilitating best‑practice sharing, playbook development, and consistent execution of channel programs across all regions. - Conduct weekly and monthly global connections to support problem solving, address channel execution gaps, and drive accountability to global priorities.
- Harmonize tools, messaging, and channel processes across Areas to ensure unified execution and optimized resource utilization.
- Lead the creation and execution of the 2027+ Global Channel Marketing Campaign
, the first campaign of its kind for IATD. - Expand upon the Stick Together (Generalists) and Stick Together Plus (Specialists) platforms established in 2026, building a multi-year campaign architecture that increases 3M mindshare, preference, and pull‑through across key channels.
- Partner with Marketing and GIC teams to build globally consistent content, digital assets, and activation playbooks for channel partners.
- Work closely with GIC leadership to optimize channel programs, processes, partner onboarding, training, and commercial tools for greater effectiveness and speed.
- Serve as a senior advisor and strategic thought partner to the Global BU VP for Adhesives & Specialty Tapes
, helping identify and develop new channel‑led growth levers across AST and broader IATD. - Collaborate with Portfolio, Marketing, and Sales teams to ensure alignment between channel priorities, product launches, pricing strategies, and growth programs.
- Establish global channel KPIs, dashboards, and performance management routines to measure program adoption, partner performance, and financial impact.
- Identify capability gaps and design training and enablement programs to elevate regional channel execution.
- Ensure global consistency in partner segmentation, program tiers, commercial policies, and incentive frameworks.
