Building Trades Teacher -- Maplewood Local Schools

• Maplewood High School

• Must hold a valid Ohio High School Teaching License (7–12).
• Work experience in the construction or building trades field is preferred.
• Must demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills.
• Must be an effective communicator and motivator.
• Must possess strong classroom management and leadership skills.
• Must be willing and able to carry out the duties of the job description.
• Willingness to engage in additional Career and Technical Education training
• Successful BCI & FBI background checks

• Provide instruction in areas such as carpentry, masonry, electrical, plumbing, and general construction safety.
• Plan and deliver lessons aligned with academic standards and industry expectations.
• Understand and maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal guidelines related to Career and Technical Education and pre-apprenticeship programming.
• Supervise students in both classroom and hands-on shop/lab settings.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and functional learning environment, ensuring proper use and care of tools and equipment.
• Support students in building practical skills and exploring potential career pathways in the trades.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, staff, and community partners.
