Position Summary

The Housekeeping Aide Maintains the facility according to the established housekeeping rules, policies and procedures. To secure a high standard of cleanliness for our residents. This position is responsible to clean, dust and mop all areas in the Rehabilitation Center to assure cleanliness.

Essential Responsibilities And Duties
  • Cleans and services rooms on daily basis.
  • Cleans nurses’ stations and dietary kitchens daily per facility policy.
  • Polish handrails, doors, door frames, etc. as directed.
  • Keeps utility storage rooms in a clean and orderly fashion.
  • Follows standard precautions for safety.
  • Disinfects toilet stools and surrounding area.
  • Scour and polishes bathtubs, showers, sinks, mirrors and similar areas/equipment on daily basis.
  • Dust mop and mop rooms on daily basis.
  • Wash windows, sill and radiators.
  • Empties, cleans and disinfects trash cans/baskets.
  • Washes wheelchairs, walkers as directed.
  • Washes beds as directed.
  • Disinfect utensils as directed.
  • Change divider curtains when needed, replacing hooks on all curtains.
  • Other duties as needed.
To Ensure Safe Environment for Residents and Staff and to Protect Self and Others from Blood Borne Pathogens
  • Cleans and services rooms on daily basis.
  • Replenishes supplies.
  • Cleans vents in rooms, etc.
  • Dusts furniture, fixtures, equipment, etc.
  • Cleans break rooms, etc. as directed.
  • Cleans nurses’ stations and dietary kitchens daily per facility policy.
  • Polish handrails, doors, door frames, etc. as directed.
  • Keeps utility storage rooms in a clean and orderly fashion.
  • Follows standard precautions for safety.

To Know and Follow Safety Procedures as Outlined by Monarch Healthcare Management
  • Keep environment neat, orderly and safe, wiping up spills and wet areas quickly.
  • Report equipment wear or damages to supervisor.
  • Follows established safety rules and policies and procedures.
  • Use and mix chemicals in proper manner with proper safety devices, i.e., goggles and gloves.
  • Use proper body mechanics while conducting job duties.
  • Observing for potential hazardous situations while completing job duties.
  • Knows and participates in the fire, tornado and disaster drills and other emergency procedures.
FACILITY COMPLIANCE
  • Promotes a highly positive workplace centered on strong customer service, inclusivity and ensuring staff feel welcome and supported
  • Attends continuing education/in-services pertinent to your department and designated by the ADON.
  • Attends all staff education of the Rehabilitation Center relating to safety, infection control and disease process.
  • Participates in inspections and audits as designated.
  • Is knowledgeable of and abides by the importance of the Residents’ Bill of Rights.
  • Attends educational programs on Continuous Quality Improvement, customer satisfaction and other such programs.
  • Maintains current knowledge of Minnesota Department of Health regulations.
  • Maintains and applies knowledge of current policies and procedures as outlined by Monarch Healthcare Management
  • Always maintains resident confidentiality. Understands the need for complete privacy of all health care data.
Qualifications

Education and Experience
  • Must be able and willing to work with other staff, accept instruction from supervisors and communicate appropriately with residents, visitors and staff.
  • Must be able to work with or without supervision and be a team player.
  • Must be able to perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must qualify for employment, after criminal background check, per guidelines of the Minnesota Department of Human Services
Preferred

Experience in healthcare, skilled nursing facility or assisted living community
