The salary for this position is at $18.50 hourly. We take into consideration an individual’s background and experience in determining salary; therefore, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes a wide range of benefits and earned time off depending on part time or full-time status.
Job summaryThe Senior Health and Wellness Coordinator provides supervision and daily direction for various health and wellness programs that may include personal and group training, group exercise, Forever Well and/or integrative health and wellness. They are a member of the branch management team. The incumbent is responsible for hiring, training, and supervision of their team(s) and ensuring quality service delivery, safe operations and cleanliness in the areas of their oversight.
EssentialFunctions
- Provide supervision to various health and wellness groups through the guidance and collaboration with the Executive or Operations Director of the branch.
- Work hands-on in program areas of expertise.
- Deliver, plan, coordinate and promote health and wellness programs and/or classes.
- Promote and educate team members, members and community participants on the benefits of participating in key healthy living programs to maximize revenue potential and increase member retention.
- Collaborate with the branch’s Executive or Operations Director to recruit, hire, train, manage and develop performance of team members.
- Manages team members’ timecard edits and approval, processes payroll and schedules.
- Provide quality customer service to members, volunteers, and participants.
- Assist the branch’s Executive or Operations Director with budget development and management.
- Work hands-on in programs of expertise.
- Maintain quality fitness floor equipment and ensure cleanliness of program areas.
This position generally reports to the branch’s Executive or Operations Director who reports to the Associate Vice President of Operations. In some instances, this position may report to a Program Director. Under the guidance of their supervisor, the incumbent directly supervises team members in various areas of leadership.
QualificationsRequired:
- Education and/or equivalent experience relating to fitness, exercise physiology, or health and wellness.
- Minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience working in Health and wellness programs.
- Excellent organization, communication, and administration skills.
- Ability to recruit, train and motivate team members.
- CPR/PR, First Aid, AED, and Oxygen certifications (within 30 days of hire).
- National Fitness Certification.
Preferred:
- Degree in Health and Science or related field.
- Group Fitness and Personal Training Certification.
Must be able to conduct classes and all activities relating to health and wellness.
