Job Overview
Airview Health Services is hiring an Echocardiographer to join our Electrocardiology team at our M Health Fairview Woodwinds and St Johns Hospitals location in Maplewood and Woodbury, MN. We’re offering a $4,500 sign‑on bonus!
Schedule:
This position will be working 0.9 FTE (72 hours every two weeks), 8‑hour day shifts with one weekend per month. This role will take one weeknight call shift per month and one call shift on the weekend they are scheduled to work. The weekend call night (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday) rotates monthly. Two weekdays off are provided during the pay period when a weekend is worked.
- Perform various echocardiograms according to departmental policies and procedures.
- Transthoracic echocardiograms.
- Exercise and pharmacological echocardiograms.
- Utilize contrast agents for echocardiograms as needed.
- Assist physicians with transesophageal echocardiograms.
- Prepare echocardiogram for interpretation including accurate preliminary report.
- Participate in quality assurance activities per ICAEL and laboratory standards.
- Attend required Q.A. meetings.
- Participate in quality improvement programs.
- Conduct correlation studies.
- Complete required continuing medical education (CME).
- Participate in research studies as needed.
- Complete various clerical and departmental tasks for efficient departmental operations.
- Complete patient registration.
- Replenish laboratory supplies as needed.
- Clean echo cart and room after each use.
- Copy and prepare DVD/CD/tapes for outside interpretation/use.
- Meet all role‑related and age‑specific competencies.
- Demonstrate ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of the population served.
- Partner with patient caregiver in care/decision making.
- Communicate respectfully.
- Ensure a safe, secure environment.
- Individualize plan of care to meet patient needs.
- Modify clinical interventions based on population served.
- Provide patient education based on assessment of learning needs of patient/caregiver.
- License/Certification/Registration
- BLS Certification
- Additional Requirements (to be obtained within 1 year of hire)
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography; OR
- Registered Cardiac Sonography (RCS) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
- Associate’s degree in Echocardiography
- 1 to 3 years of Echocardiography experience
