The Impact You’ll Make in this RoleAs a Field Operations Analyst, you will develop production plans, perform risk assessments and/or warehouse audits. You will lead projects as well as initiatives to ensure a just-in-time material flow from purchase to finished products. You will provide transportation support services to assigned plants, product divisions, branches and distribution centers regarding operational issues and cost/service improvement programs and work with carrier personnel in order to meet service requirements and to perform statistical analysis on routings and distribution methods.

- Own demand signal capture and short- to medium-term volume forecasting to support container planning and booking alignment
- Build and maintain dashboards tracking first leg KPIs including cost per container, drayage spend, carrier performance, and network volume
- Conduct cost analysis and surface savings opportunities across consolidation centers and drayage spend
- Support CI target tracking against annual spend reduction goals
- Maintain accurate records across ERP, WMS, and TMS platforms
- Partner with plants, traffic management, freight forwarders, and consolidation center teams to ensure data integrity
- Produce regular reporting for leadership on first leg cost performance and trends
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives across first leg operations
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited university
OR
- High School Diploma/GED from an accredited institution and a minimum of 7+ years of experience in supply chain in lieu of the Bachelor’s degree education requirement
- 1 year experience with ocean or air freight AND/OR drayage, intermodal, or trucking operations
- 1 year of SAP or equivalent ERP experience required
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Exposure to continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma) preferred
- Strong analytical and communication skills; comfortable working across multiple sites and stakeholders
- Familiarity with data analytics tools and languages is a plus (SQL, Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
- Onsite – Maplewood, MN at least 4 days a week in office

The expected compensation range for this position is $95,750- $115,750, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
