The Impact You’ll Make in this RoleAs a Sr Laboratory Technician you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Configuring, operating, and maintaining processes and equipment incorporating web mechanics, coating and/or printing, drying, curing, analysis and characterization.
- Conducting designed experiments to support lead researchers that must develop a thorough understanding of how materials and process parameters affect final product properties.
- Ability to work independently and with multidisciplinary team members.
- Ability to make recommendations with respect to material formulation and/or process modifications.
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
- Two (2) years of technician experience
- Fluency in written and spoken English
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Associate degree or two-year technical degree from an accredited institution
- Four (4) or more years of laboratory experience conducting product performance testing
- Experience testing adhesives, tapes, laminates, or other coated materials
- Familiarity with adhesive and tape test methods such as peel, tack, shear, tensile, or environmental aging evaluations
- Strong attention to detail, communication skills, initiative, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Work location:
This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN.
May include up to 5%.

CompensationThe expected compensation range for this position is $75,064 - $91,745.
