Physical Properties Technician; Temp

Shift: Monday through Friday, 8:00AM - 5:00PM

Physical Properties Technician – This position is expected to last 3 months with the possibility of extension. Compensation: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour.

• Running chemical-mechanical planarization equipment
• Assembling silicon wafers and abrasive pads for testing
• Material properties analysis including DMA, hardness, eddy current, etc.
• Analyze samples by confocal laser scanning microscopy, atomic force microscopy (AFM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM)
• Analyze samples by supporting techniques including optical interferometry
• General lab maintenance duties
• Clean, maintain and calibrate instruments
• Maintain detailed and organized documentation on all laboratory work

• Associates degree or higher required
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry/ Biochemistry or a closely related field preferred
• Time management skills and a high level of independence after the training phase
• Good organizational skills, record keeping, and follow through will be integral to success
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and by email
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Applications
• Ability to perform work in a lab or office setting, stand for long periods while conducting tests, work around strong smells, and wear personal protective equipment while handling samples (e.g., lab coat, safety glasses and gloves; all PPE provided by Pace).
