Job Summary
As a Maintenance Planner, you play a critical role in supporting facility reliability, efficiency and operational excellence. You'll work closely with maintenance crews, craftsmen, supervisors and engineering. The job involves reviewing many Preventive Maintenance (PM) work orders daily, scheduling these to the various crafts, ordering parts via SAP modules, updating the PM plans based on feedback from the crews or others, and writing follow up repair work orders for failures on the PM’s.
An industrial maintenance background is sought and working with multiple crafts, such as Electrical, Plumber, Pipefitter, HVAC, Millwright/Mechanic. SAP work order management experience is preferred.
- Supporting a crew of maintenance personnel by reviewing and analyzing incoming shop work orders to identify materials, craftsperson time, priorities and other requirements for scheduling and completing the work
- Supporting building operations by reviewing work order requirements with Plant Engineering Supervision and affected Business Partners to determine appropriate timing, assure availability of people and equipment, schedule accordingly, and track work for timeliness and efficiency
- Determining work scope by inspecting the work site to identify problems, safety issues, tool and material needs, permitting requirements, or need for special instructions to provide effectiveness of assigned craft
- Leading the work order generation role by obtaining and evaluating prints and other documentation relating to shop work orders, suggests modifications and request clarifications to provide complete, understandable, and correct information and scope for maintenance projects
- May lead weekly planning meetings and attend daily tier meetings with the businesses

- Technical/maintenance related 2-year Associate’s degree, preferred, not required.
- 4 years or more of maintenance experience in a maintenance department, industrial plant, or campus setting.
- Blueprint reading required.
- Electrical, plumbing, pipe fitting, HVAC, millwright/maintenance and/or mechanic experience preferred.
- Computerized Maintenance Management System software (CMMS) strongly preferred.
- SAP experience is preferred.
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, Outlook), required.
- Time management and good organizational skills required.
- Effective communication skills required.
- Able to deal with political aspects of a large corporate environment and communicate with all levels in the organization, required.
- Training in confined space, OSHA 30 preferred.
The current project is scheduled to start as soon as possible and run long term, working day shift, Mon-Fri. Some overtime on weekends may be possible but not expected to be often.
Compensation and BenefitsPay Rate: $40-50/hour plus benefits, dependent upon previous experience and qualifications. A typical work week is 45 hours per week. Some overtime is likely depending on project type, size and completion.
