THE POSITION

Candidates should have experience working in a special education classroom or resource room setting, with behavior modification experience. He/she should desire to work cooperatively with academic teachers within a team concept.

QUALIFICATIONS

* Teacher of the Handicapped or Teacher of Students with Disabilities and Secondary certification in Math.

Experience with executive functioning preferred.

* Familiarity with online learning platforms.

* Demonstrated knowledge of effective teaching methods and developmentally appropriate classroom activities and modifications.

* Experience with thorough data collection and behavioral management.

* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

* Required criminal history background check and medical screening, proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident/immigrant status.

Starting Salary Range:

Bachelor's Degree: $66,100 - $99,568

Master's Degree: $73,400 - $109,118

Master's + 30 Credits: $77,410 - $114,703

Doctorate: $80,410 - $117,703

JOB GOAL(S)

To provide instructional leadership in the classroom in accordance with the course of study approved by the Board of Education approved curriculum.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

* Implements instruction to meet the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.

* Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.

* Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and objectives.

* Employs instructional methods and available materials that are appropriate for meeting stated objectives.

* Assesses the performance of students on a continuing basis and provides progress reports as required.

* Identifies students who require additional support services.

* Communicates with colleagues, students, and parents.

* Maintains high expectations for student performance and behavior.

* Engages in professional development activities, which enhances instructional practices.

* Participates in appropriate building and district meetings.

* Strives to maintain and improve professional competence.

* Performs other related duties as assigned.
