High School Teaching/Special Education Teacher

Physics teacher – 1.0 FTE, Columbia High School. Available September 2026.

Job Overview

The goal of this position is to teach high school students the Science curriculum.

Minimum Qualifications

New Jersey Instructional Certificate or eligibility.
Teaching experience preferred, but not required.
Demonstrated knowledge in subject area.
Familiarity with use of technology as instructional tool.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Required criminal history background check.
Proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.

Qualifications Required

NJ Teacher of Physical Science, Teacher of Physics, Teacher of Chemistry, or Teacher of Earth Science endorsement preferred.

Teaching experience with knowledge of physical sciences is preferred. AP experience preferred. Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging physics lessons that cater to the diverse learning styles and abilities of students.

Develop and implement curriculum, instructional materials, and assessments aligned with NJ Science standards.

Create a positive and inclusive learning environment conducive to academic and personal growth.

A criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident/immigrant status are required.

Starting Salary Range

Bachelor's Degree: $70,000 - $100,315
Master's Degree: $77,450 - $109,865
Master's + 30 Credits: $81,565 - $115,450
Doctorate: $84,565 - $118,450

Primary Responsibilities
