Special Education Teacher – ABA (1.0 FTE – Clinton Elementary School)

The position is for a Special Education Elementary teacher with ABA training, experienced in a special education classroom or resource room setting, and knowledgeable in behavior modification. The teacher will work cooperatively with academic teachers within a team concept.

Qualifications

New Jersey Teacher of the Handicapped or Teacher of Students with Disabilities and Elementary Education certification.
Knowledge of NJCCS and NCLB.
ABA experience.
Teaching experience with special needs students preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident/immigrant status.

Primary Responsibilities

Implements instruction to meet the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.

Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.

Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and objectives.

Employs instructional methods and available materials that are appropriate for meeting stated objectives.

Assesses the performance of students on a continuing basis and provides progress reports as required.

Identifies students who require additional support services.

Communicates with colleagues, students, and parents.

Maintains high expectations for student performance and behavior.

Engages in professional development activities that enhance instructional practices.

Participates in building and district meetings.

Strives to maintain and improve professional competence.

Uses technology for communication purposes.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Salary Range

Bachelor's Degree: $70,000 - $100,315
Master's Degree: $77,450 - $109,865
Master's + 30 Credits: $81,565 - $115,450
Doctorate: $84,565 - $118,450
