Procurement Intern (Summer 2026)
The Town of Marana is seeking a motivated, quick‑learning Procurement Intern for Summer 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in municipal procurement while contributing directly to high‑impact projects, specifically the Town’s transition to a modern e‑procurement system. The internship will actively contribute in a team‑based setting while also taking on independent assignments. With direction from Procurement staff, the intern will be expected to manage tasks autonomously and deliver meaningful value to the department.
Hiring Rate: $16.15/hour
Responsibilities- Assist with document and data migration.
- Organize templates, forms, and historical files.
- Support workflow documentation and process mapping.
- Participate in system testing and training preparation.
- Help create reference guides and rollout materials.
- Assist with solicitations (RFPs, RFQs, IFBs, and RFIs).
- Conduct vendor and market research.
- Review purchase requisitions for completeness and compliance.
- Support bid evaluations and summary documentation.
- Track contract expirations and renewals.
- Assist with amendments and file maintenance.
- Review vendor insurance and compliance documents.
- Analyze spending data for trends and cost‑saving opportunities.
- Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations.
- Participate in pre‑bid meetings and vendor discussions.
- Support process‑improvement initiatives.
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Public Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or a related degree program.
- Completion of the Town of Marana background check.
- Experience with data analysis or ERP/e‑procurement systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office:
Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.
