We are seeking a motivated Junior Buyer to join our supply chain team in this entry-level purchasing role. This position offers the opportunity to take the first step into a professional buyer career, supporting material planning and procurement activities that are critical to company operations. In this role, you will be responsible for developing material plans, maintaining accurate lead times, and tracking parts availability to ensure smooth and efficient supply chain performance.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop material plans using historical usage, sales forecasts, inventory policies, cash considerations, and other relevant data to establish min/max levels, receipt schedules, and availability.
- Secure and maintain accurate lead times within the system.
- Track parts availability and provide status updates on all assigned materials.
- Place purchase orders in alignment with material plans, ensuring timely and accurate execution, including large quantity orders supported by staggered small deliveries.
- Initiate the return of early or non-conforming receipts to vendors and secure appropriate credit.
- Monitor assigned inventory balances, including usage and disposition of inactive inventory.
- Ensure vendors meet on-time delivery requirements and provide quality products/services.
- Negotiate and maintain competitive pricing for assigned materials.
- Maintain objective vendor performance data, including cost variations, quality, and schedule adherence.
- Attend meetings as required.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Maintain a library of vendor and manufacturer catalogs and services.
- Assist the Marketing Department with pricing bids.
- Support periodic and annual inventory activities.
- Ensure all work is performed safely, directing activities to protect employees and maintain safe working conditions.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- High attention to detail and solid mathematical aptitude.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend the English language, and follow both verbal and written instructions.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Continuing education toward CPM or APICS certification preferred.
- Experience as a Planner and/or Buyer, with aircraft industry experience strongly preferred.
- Flexibility to work at both Marana, AZ and Tucson, AZ locations as business needs dictate.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
- Occasional squatting, lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 20 pounds.
EQUIPMENT OPERATED:
- Telephone, personal computer, multiple printers, copy machine, and shredder.
- May be required to operate additional office equipment not explicitly listed in this description as needed to perform job duties effectively.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Work primarily in the Main Hangar building office with occasional travel to various locations on base.
