Interiors Lead – Aircraft Interiors

We are seeking an Interiors Lead to support aircraft maintenance by restoring, repairing, and installing interior components to meet regulatory and customer expectations. This 24/7 operation requires flexibility to work any shift, including days, evenings, weekends, 12‑hour schedules, and overtime (scheduled and unscheduled, including holidays).

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensure compliance with technical data, FAA regulations, and company policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and Production Control to communicate work progress.
  • Review non‑planned documents to identify repair or replacement methods, parts, materials, tooling, and provide estimates within scope.
  • Document parts or components routed to Technical Services with a valid job number and proper work scope.
  • Execute parts tags on repairable, serviceable, or condemned parts.
  • Perform maintenance work including disassembly, repair, cleaning, adjustment, and testing of cabin interiors and related equipment.
  • Install aircraft interior furnishings, trim, and accessories (carpeting, sidewalls, doors, windows, seats, partitions, galleys, passenger service units) per specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and production procedures for measurements and installation procedures.
  • Measure and mark installation areas, use tools such as drills, reams, countersinks, and rivets.
  • Trim and file parts and assemblies using hand and power tools.
  • Fit and install items into the aircraft using appropriate fasteners (screws, rivets, bolts, speed nuts).
  • Fabricate and install supporting structural devices such as clips, brackets, angles, gussets, doublers with shop equipment.
  • Test functional performance of installed items and rework as required.
  • Orient and train employees on job tasks; document training.
  • Enforce company policies, safety regulations, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate worker activities, assign duties for efficient manpower usage, and resolve work problems.
  • Maintain communication within the area of responsibility about plans, progress, teamwork, and cooperation.
  • Track time on each work order and log accurately on the time card.

REQUIRED SKILLS / ABILITIES
  • Strong organizational and planning skills with ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail and mathematical proficiency.
  • Capability to drive and operate a standard shift automotive vehicle and related equipment safely.
  • Capable of working independently or under supervision.
  • Flexibility to work at both Marana, AZ and Tucson, AZ locations as business needs dictate.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • 3‑5 years of aircraft experience
  • A License preferred
  • Repairman’s Certificate for Interiors and Related Structures preferred; valid driver’s license required
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend English, including following verbal and written instructions.
  • Proficient in interpreting and applying technical data relevant to the position.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, kneeling, balancing, and reaching above shoulder level.
  • Occasional crawling, climbing, lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Requires eye‑hand coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Corrected vision and hearing within normal range.
EQUIPMENT OPERATED
  • Protective equipment required: goggles, safety glasses, face shields, ear protection, apron, gloves, safety harness, breathing equipment.
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Work location includes aircraft maintenance hangars, flightline, and avionics shop.
  • Potential hazards: high‑intensity noise, extreme temperature changes, electrical charges, radar waves, materials identified on safety data sheets, and working around moving machinery.
OTHER DUTIES
  • May be required to work at both Marana, AZ and Tucson, AZ locations as business needs dictate.
