Position Overview
The Town of Marana is seeking a Maintenance Associate I to work in the Streets Division of the Public Works Department. This is a full‑time position that offers a fast‑paced work environment, providing vital services to the community’s health, safety, and comfort.

Work Hours:
6:00 am – 4:30 pm, 4 days a week with mandatory rotating on‑call.
Expected Hiring Range:
- $17.87/hour – $21.89/hour – placement dependent on direct experience, internal equity, and/or budget.
Salary Range:
- $17.87/hour – $25.91/hour

Responsibilities- Transport equipment and set up traffic control devices.
- Operate Gannon, backhoe, kick broom, and steel/rubber rollers.
- Operate dump truck to haul materials.
- Sweep and maintain right‑of‑way roads by operating street sweeper.
- Schedule equipment repairs.
- Remove and replace concrete—operating light equipment, cutting and breaking out damaged concrete, setting forms and pre‑subgrade areas, mixing concrete, and pouring and finishing concrete.
- Remove and replace asphalt—cutting asphalt, preparing and compacting subgrade, installing new asphalt, performing crack sealant and hot crack seal, and spreading and leveling sealant.
- Inspect and maintain equipment, perform blue staking.
- High school diploma or GED equivalency.
- Six (6) months of street construction/maintenance experience or a closely related field.
- Valid Arizona driver’s license.
- Complete a pre‑employment physical (including audiogram) and pass a 50‑pound lift test.
- Complete Town of Marana background check and motor vehicle records check.
An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience that provides the desired knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform essential functions may be considered.
