The Landing Gear Technician is responsible for inspecting, disassembling, repairing, servicing, and assembling aircraft landing gear components in accordance with approved maintenance procedures, technical specifications, and regulatory requirements. This position plays a critical role in ensuring landing gear systems are safe, reliable, and airworthy. The technician works closely with other maintenance personnel and production teams to complete quality repairs and meet established safety, quality, and production standards.
This position requires a current A&P License.
Built on a foundation of Respect, Safety, Quality, and Results, we are looking for a skilled and motivated Landing Gear Technician to overhaul, repair and perform routine maintenance on landing gear assemblies for a variety of customers in accordance with CMM instructions.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Ability to operate crane and hydraulic press.
- Read and understand CMM and SOPM.
- Assemble, test, and disassemble landing gears and its components.
- Remove, install, and hone bushings.
- Sandblast and wash parts as required per CMM and SOPM.
- With minimal supervision, troubleshoots, repairs, overhauls, and tests core accessory components using hand tools, power tools, ground support equipment, test equipment and technical documents. Orders parts needed to complete the work.
- Researches, prepares, and signs off various documents, including updating work order status, for record keeping purposes as required by Duncan approved procedures, manufacturers' maintenance manuals, and FAA regulations with minimal supervision.
- Provides accurate repair and overhaul information for creating estimates.
- Perform dimensional inspections using various types of precision measuring equipment.
- Rework damage and/or corrosion of parts within in documented repair schemes, such as blending, sanding, polishing, etc.
- Interprets technical manuals, drawings and blueprints.
- Complete all required maintenance records as stated in Ascent Repair Station and Quality Control Manuals.
- Accurately record labor time worked on component work order.

Required Skills/Abilities:
- Capable of performing full maintenance IAW CMM.
- Experience in hydraulic repairs.
- Will participate in safety initiatives, safe work practices and SMS compliance.
Education and Experience:
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in aviation landing gear repairs.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English, including following verbal and written instructions.
- A&P License, and valid driver's license required.
Physical Requirements:
- Requires sitting, standing or walking for extended periods of time.
- Requires frequent walking, climbing and lifting, bending, reaching to shoulder level, carrying, pushing or pulling weight up to 50 pounds.
- Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

Exposure to high intensity noise levels, extreme changes in temperature, electrical charges and radar waves, materials identified in Safety Data Sheets, working around moving machinery. - Protective Equipment
