Position: HR Generalist / Employee Housing Coordinator

HR Generalist / Employee Housing Coordinator

Isla Bella Beach Resort, a luxury oceanfront resort in the Florida Keys, is seeking a detail-oriented and people-focused People & Culture Generalist / Housing Coordinator to support our team members and oversee day-to-day employee housing operations.

This role blends HR generalist responsibilities with hands-on housing coordination to ensure our team members feel welcomed, supported, and set up for success—both at work and  ideal candidate is highly organized, approachable, and able to balance HR sensitivity with operational and housing needs in a fast-paced environment.

People & Culture Generalist / Housing Coordinator – Isla Bella Beach Resort

Support recruiting efforts by reviewing candidates and coordinating with hiring managers and the People & Culture team

Coordinate onboarding processes, including completion of employment paperwork and I-9 verification

Maintain employee files and ensure accurate and compliant HR recordkeeping

Assist with new hire orientation and onboarding activities

Track and monitor completion of required training, certifications, and compliance requirements

Support employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and events

Assist with employee relations matters and escalate sensitive concerns as appropriate

Respond to general employee inquiries and provide support to team members and leaders

Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and HR best practices

Coordinate day-to-day operations of employee housing across all assigned properties

Review and process lease agreements and ensure all required documentation is completed

Assign housing units and maintain accurate rosters, occupancy reports, and availability tracking

Conduct move-in and move-out inspections and ensure proper unit turnover, including:

Light cleaning of units

Making beds and preparing rooms for incoming residents

Washing linens as needed

Perform minor maintenance tasks such as:

Changing light bulbs

Replacing batteries (e.g., smoke detectors, remotes)

Coordinate maintenance requests and service calls with Engineering and external vendors

Escort vendors (e.g., pest control, maintenance) to units when tenants are not present

Address and de-escalate tenant concerns or conflicts in a timely and professional manner

Maintain inventory of housing furniture, appliances, and equipment; track damages or missing items

Ensure housing policies and community standards are followed by residents

Process rent through payroll deductions, including tracking:

Arrears

Security deposits

Prorated rent amounts

Monitor and manage housing occupancy, including:

Consolidating tenants to maximize occupancy

Tracking upcoming move-ins and move-outs

Partnering with recruiting and P&C to forecast housing needs based on new hires

Partner closely with People & Culture, Housekeeping, and Engineering to ensure units remain safe, clean, and move-in ready

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced hospitality environment

Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality

Strong time management and problem-solving skills

Working knowledge of HR best practices and employment laws

Proficient in Microsoft Office and ability to learn HRIS systems

Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred, but not required

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Hospitality, or related field preferred

At least 1 year of experience in Human Resources, hospitality operations, or administrative support preferred

Experience with employee housing operations or property management is a plus

Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer

Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally

Ability to walk between buildings and access all areas of the property

May require driving a golf cart between housing locations

Valid driver's license required
