Reports To: Warehouse and Inventory Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Position Summary:The Lead Receiver coordinates and performs daily receiving, inspection, documentation, labeling, staging, and storage of incoming materials. This position supports warehouse employees by communicating daily priorities, reinforcing procedures, assisting with training, and maintaining accurate inventory and receiving records and helps maintain a clean and organized warehouse.

The Lead Receiver serves as the primary receiving contact when the Warehouse and Inventory Manager is unavailable.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive, inspect, document, label, stage, and store incoming materials in accordance with company procedures.
  • Verify shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, bills of lading, item numbers, quantities, and units of measure.
  • Identify and report shortages, overages, damage, substitutions, and other receiving discrepancies.
  • Enter receiving information accurately into the inventory management system and maintain organized documentation.
  • Communicate receiving priorities, assignments, and workflow updates to warehouse employees.
  • Provide hands-on guidance, training support, and routine work direction while remaining actively involved in daily warehouse operations.
  • Assist with cycle counts, physical inventories, location audits, inventory research, and correction of misplaced or unidentified materials.
  • Load, unload, move, stage, and prepare materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other material-handling equipment.
  • Support picking, staging, shipping, delivery, customer pickup, and material-transfer activities as needed.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe receiving, warehouse, staging, yard, equipment, and work areas.
  • Follow and reinforce company safety procedures, equipment-use standards, inspection requirements, and applicable workplace safety rules.
  • Report safety concerns, equipment damage, inventory issues, attendance concerns, performance concerns, and operational risks to management.
  • Assist with deliveries on an as needed basis.
Education & Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required

Minimum of two years of experience in warehouse, receiving, shipping, inventory, logistics, or a related field required

Experience with inventory systems, barcode scanners, purchase orders, packing slips, and receiving documentation preferred

Experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment required.

Valid driver’s license required when operating company vehicles or performing deliveries.

Prior lead, trainer, or receiving coordinator experience preferred.

Experience with Acumatica or a comparable inventory or enterprise resource planning system preferred.

Bilingual communication skills in English and Spanish preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

Strong attention to detail, organization, and commitment to inventory accuracy.

Ability to lead by example, communicate priorities clearly, and support employees without formal supervisory authority.

Ability to read and interpret purchase orders, packing slips, bills of lading, labels, item numbers, and inventory records.

Proficiency with email, inventory software, spreadsheets, electronic documentation, and Microsoft 365 applications.

Ability to prioritize work, solve routine problems, elevate concerns appropriately, and adapt to changing operational needs.

Professional communication skills when working with employees, managers, vendors, drivers, customers, and other departments.

Certifications & Licenses:
  • Forklift certification preferred; company-approved certification may be required after hire.
  • Commercial Driver’s License, Class A or Class B, preferred when applicable.
  • OSHA or other warehouse safety training are preferred .
