Accounting Assistant, Accounts Receivable/ Collections
We are seeking an Accounting Assistant to support our Controller and Director of Finance during an upcoming accounting system transition. This role will focus on data migration, system training, and assisting with day‑to‑day accounting tasks. The ideal candidate has foundational accounting knowledge, strong attention to detail, and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete all required Veracross training modules to gain proficiency with the new accounting system.
- Assist with the transfer and validation of financial data from Xero into Veracross.
- Attend scheduled virtual meetings with the Veracross implementation team to ensure accurate system setup and workflow alignment.
- Collaborate closely with the Controller to support a smooth and accurate system conversion process.
- Apply general accounting knowledge to ensure correct coding, data accuracy, and reconciliation during migration.
- Utilize accounting software knowledge to troubleshoot issues, identify discrepancies, and support post‑implementation cleanup.
- Maintain organized records and documentation throughout the transition.
Qualifications
- Understanding of basic accounting principles (AP/AR, journal entries, GL structure, reconciliations).
- Experience with accounting software systems; familiarity with Xero or Veracross is highly preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Comfortable participating in virtual meetings and following implementation timelines.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
