Marblehead High School - Special Education Teacher Anticipated Opening

School Year 2026-27

Position Responsibilities

Marblehead is seeking a Special Education teacher at Marblehead High School (grades 9-12) to coordinate and provide special education services and supports with the chairperson and general education teachers, and provide direct instruction on student goals and objectives. The teacher must hold a valid MA DESE license (Moderate Disabilities 9-12 preferred) and be knowledgeable about current MA Curriculum Frameworks and experienced in differentiated instructional practices.

Additionally, preferred candidates will have experience with:

  • IEP writing/implementation
  • Formal academic evaluations
  • Preparing quarterly progress reports
  • Working as part of a team
  • Student case management
  • Co‑teaching
  • Fostering strong parent communication
  • Completion of other duties as assigned by Chairperson, Building Administrators, or Director of Student Services

Job Requirements
  • Must hold Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Moderate Disabilities Educator License at the 9-12 level.
  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and possess a high level of capability with technology.
  • Must be able to assist in the protection of students and school property, and assist the principal in fire and other emergency drills as required by law and School Committee policy.
  • Citizenship, residency, or work visa required
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
