School Year 2026-27

• Teaches Marine Technology to high‑school students.
• Introduces students to the skills necessary to repair and maintain oceangoing pleasure craft.
• Instruction involves hands‑on training utilizing diesel and gasoline engines and related components.
• Plans a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
• Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
• Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required.
• Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.
• Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct, and develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, maintaining order fairly and justly.
• Attends staff meetings and serves on staff committees as required.
• Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and provides individualized and small‑group instruction to adapt the curriculum to each pupil’s needs.
• Translates lesson plans into learning experiences so as to best utilize the available instructional time.
• Evaluates pupils’ academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records, and prepares progress reports.
• Communicates with parents through conferences and other means to discuss pupil progress and interpret the school program.
• Identifies pupil needs and cooperates with other professional staff members to assess and help pupils solve health, attitude, and learning problems.
• Supervises pupils in out‑of‑classroom activities during the assigned working day.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

• Must hold a Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education license at the 9‑12 level.
• Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a high level of technological competency.
• Must be able to assist in the protection of students and school property, and assist the principal in fire and other emergency drills as required by law and school policy.
• Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Master’s degree preferred.
