Glover Elementary School Principal

Marblehead Public Schools is seeking a passionate and committed elementary instructional leader for the Glover School who demonstrates a student‑first mentality, visionary leadership, commitment to equity and social justice, strong communication, and a growth mindset.

Responsibilities
  • Hold high expectations for student achievement and make decisions that prioritize student outcomes and social‑emotional success.
  • Serve as a bold, innovative, and engaging change agent and culture creator, inspiring and motivating those around them.
  • Maintain a high level of commitment to traditionally underrepresented student populations and uphold equity and social justice.
  • Collaborate effectively with school staff, district leaders, and families, embracing and empowering families as integral partners.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, humility, and respect while guiding teachers and staff toward shared goals.
  • Establish and implement a vision for the school focused on outcomes, high expectations for teaching and learning, and prioritizing team building and teacher leadership.
  • Coaching and feedback for teachers to continuously improve planning and instruction.
  • Enhance consistency and rigor of classroom instruction through vertically aligned implementation of the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks.
  • Build a culture that uses performance data at the school, grade, classroom, and student levels to inform instruction and monitor progress.
  • Plan and lead professional development in areas such as Multi‑tiered Systems of Support, Culturally Proficient Teaching, Data‑Informed Decision Making, and Social‑Emotional Health and Wellness.
  • Build and cultivate a high‑performing, collaborative, student‑centered school culture.
  • Recruit, hire, supervise, and evaluate all professional and support staff; manage a budget that prioritizes teaching and learning while controlling costs.
  • Develop and execute systems and procedures—behavior management, Teacher Assistance Teams, schedules, interventions, food services, transportation—to promote shared leadership, quality teaching, and student and adult safety.
  • Respond to challenges with resourcefulness, creativity, hard work, and resiliency, proactively developing solutions focused on improving student results.
  • Build relationships and engage parents and community members as critical partners in school improvement; develop public relations and two‑way communication avenues.
  • Attend after‑school meetings, student and community events, and school committee meetings as directed by the Superintendent; perform related duties and report directly to the Superintendent.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field.
  • Master’s degree in Education or related field (preferred).
  • Licensed in Massachusetts as a school principal.
  • SEI endorsement within one year of hire (or will obtain).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a school instructional leader (preferred).
  • Experience effectively leading, supervising, coaching, and developing educators.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience (preferred).
  • Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
  • Demonstrated leadership and influencing skills, a track record of success, and a growth mindset.
  • Documented history of raising student achievement and developing strong teams.
