Chess Wizards seeks enthusiastic, reliable instructors to join our after‑school enrichment program in Marblehead, MA for the Fall season. This is a side‑hustle opportunity with competitive pay ($50‑$70 per class, one hour and thirty minutes) and flexible hours (minimum 1 class to a maximum of 5 per week). You’ll teach elementary students the magic of chess in local schools during weekday afternoons from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
LocationMarblehead, MA (no relocation assistance – candidates must reside locally or relocate at their own expense).

- Follow school safety protocols, including supervision during arrival, dismissal, and in‑class activities.
- Travel to various local school sites for each session.
- Arrive on time, prepared, and ready to engage students.
- Experience working with groups of children (teaching, tutoring, coaching, camp counseling, or similar).
- Comfort leading a class independently and creating interactive, friendly, and fun sessions.
- Professional, positive, and kid‑friendly demeanor.
- Genuine desire to be a positive role model and promote good sportsmanship.
- Strong grasp of chess fundamentals; ability to explain piece movement, basic strategy, and simple tactics age‑appropriately.
- Ability to link chess problem‑solving to real‑life problem‑solving.
- Reliable personal transportation and ability to drive between locations.
- Availability on weekday afternoons, 2:00 PM‑5:00 PM, for 1‑5 classes per week.
- Commitment to implementing school safety protocols and a strong record of reliability.
- Strong punctuality and time‑management skills.
- Resume highlighting relevant experience with children in educational, recreational, or mentoring settings.
- Completed questionnaire about interest in the role, experience with children, and qualifications to teach chess.
