Reading Instructional Assistant (18.5 hours/week)

The Reading Instructional Assistant works with students to improve their reading skills and proficiency. Working under the supervision of the Literacy Coaches and building principal, the Reading Instructional Assistant will:

• Provide engaging Tier 2 reading interventions to small groups of students
• Administer benchmark and progress monitoring assessments in collaboration with classroom teachers
• Respond to available data to inform instruction
• Maintain student confidentiality
• Develop a positive and successful instructional climate that celebrates students’ differences and allows for respectful engagement

• Experience working with children, preferably in a school or educational setting. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Perform other duties as assigned by the literacy coaches or building principal.
• At least 1 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
• Associate degree preferred.
