Tedesco Country Club

Tedesco Country Club is a private, member-owned, 18-hole championship golf course located in scenic Marblehead, MA. Founded in 1903, the golf course hosted numerous Massachusetts Open and Amateur Championships, cohosted the 2020 NEPGA Section Championship, and was the host site for the 2024 NEPGA Section Championship. The club grew to 36 golf holes and has since evolved into the current 18-hole layout attributed to Skip Wogan, Wayne Stiles, and Donald Ross.

The club is seeking a highly motivated, career driven individual to join our organization in the role of Assistant Golf Course Superintendent. The ideal individual must be team oriented and able to contribute to a positive, inclusive, and productive workplace culture. The individual we seek must have a strong attention to detail, the ability to lead by example, and a sense of ownership, pride, and follow-through in their work.

Strong communication in all forms as well as an ability to take initiative are necessary for success in this position.

There is flexibility in the position to suit candidates from a variety of experience levels. For the more experienced candidate, this position offers opportunities for career advancement as well as professional growth and fulfillment. Candidates with less experience but an eagerness and willingness to learn and expand their skills are encouraged to apply, as this position could provide an opportunity to grow professionally within the organization while developing valuable hands‑on training and experience.

The Assistant Superintendent works alongside the Director of Grounds to carry out all tasks to ensure golf course and facility maintenance standards are consistently achieved in an efficient manner. Responsibilities include but are not limited to

• All tasks associated with golf course maintenance and preparation for play
• Execution of plant protect ant applications and cultural practices
• Assistance in training, mentoring, scheduling, assigning tasks, and quality control
• Irrigation maintenance, repairs, and scheduling
• Daily monitoring of golf course and hand watering
• Assisting with and ensuring safety compliance
• Detailed recordkeeping
• Assistance in execution and management of Capital Projects
• Snow removal

The Club has a busy golf season that spans from April through November. Activities quiet down in the off‑season, providing time for team building and professional development. In season, multiple public beaches located within half a mile of the golf course provide countless recreational opportunities as well as a nice afternoon ocean breeze.
