TES has an excellent training opportunity for a Track Operative to join our team in the Colchester and surrounding area
. We're a well-established rail safety company, and we're looking for dedicated professionals to help us maintain a safe and efficient network.
We will provide you with all the training you need to be able to work within this Safety Critical role. Please ensure that you are available for the dates for training.
This is a 0-hour contract with work available both midweek and weekends. We're ideally looking for candidates based in and around Colchester, Chelmsford, Clacton and Ipswich
and the surrounding areas.
- Manual Handling, Fire Awareness and Emergency First Aid at Work Monday 9th and Tuesday
10th March - PTS Wednesday 11th and Thursday 12th March
- TIC Monday
16th through to Friday 20th March - Small Tools Tuesday 24th through to Thursday 26th March
Your availability for these dates is essential. After successful completion, you will be supported to undertake safety-critical duties as a Track Operative with TES.
What You'll Be Doing:As a key member of our Permanent Way (PWay) Department, you'll be instrumental in maintaining the permanent fixtures of the railway infrastructure.

What We're Looking For:
We are seeking safety-conscious individuals who are ready to make an immediate impact. The ideal candidate will:
- Be able to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol test.
- Availability to attend training.
- Have availability for shifts during the day, night, weekends, and bank holidays.
- PREFERRED:
Hold a valid driving license and have access to a vehicle.
Please note that we will be holding a group interview/information session in person in Colchester on Monday 16th Feb 2026
