Job Requirements and DutiesYou must be at least 18 years old, hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, and have access to a reliable, insured vehicle. You should be able to read maps, locate addresses within the delivery area, and navigate adverse terrain, including multi‑story buildings.
GeneralJob Duties
- Operate all store equipment.
- Stock ingredients from the delivery area to storage.
- Prepare products and process telephone orders.
- Take inventory and complete paperwork.
- Clean equipment and the facility daily.
Orientation and on‑the‑job training are provided.
Communication Skills- Understand and provide written instructions.
- Communicate verbally with customers and coworkers over the phone and in person.
- Perform basic arithmetic accurately and quickly (calculator may be used).
- Make correct monetary change.
- Read, write, and use a telephone to take orders.
- Coordinate motor movements with speed and precision.
- Enter orders using a keyboard or touchscreen.
- Varying and sometimes adverse weather while outdoors.
- In‑store temperatures ranging from 36°F to 90°F+.
- Sudden temperature changes inside and outside.
- Exposure to food fumes, cornmeal dust, and cramped walk‑in coolers.
- Hot surfaces/tools up to 500°F.
- Sharp edges and moving mechanical parts.
- Use of telephone for talking and hearing.
- Need near and mid‑range vision, depth perception, and the ability to differentiate hot and cold surfaces.
Must direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work both independently and as part of a team, handle stress, meet quality standards, interact with people, analyze and compile data, and make judgments and decisions.
Physical Requirements- Standing:
Most tasks are performed while standing. - Walking:
Short distances and durations; typical flooring includes ceramic tile and linoleum. - Paperwork:
Completed at a desk or table. - Lifting:
Unload deliveries of up to 50 pounds using a hand truck; store items on shelves up to 72 inches high. - Carrying:
Transport large cans, pizza sauce, and dough trays (up to 12 pounds) over short distances. - Pushing:
Move trays on dollies requiring up to 7.5 pounds of force; trays may also be pulled. - Climbing:
Occasionally navigate stairs or ladders for maintenance tasks.
Delivery drivers often become store managers, franchise owners, or corporate managers.
