Zen Dry Restoration, a growing Atlanta-based restoration company is seeking an Accounting Specialist who wants to build a long-term career while making a meaningful impact on a growing business. You'll work closely with ownership and our Fractional CFO, gaining exposure to financial reporting, job costing, business operations, and strategic financial planning as your responsibilities grow over time.

What You'll Be Doing

As our Accounting Specialist, you'll play an important role in supporting the financial health of our growing company. While you'll begin by owning many of the core accounting functions, you'll also have the opportunity to expand your responsibilities over time while working alongside ownership and our Fractional CFO.

Core Accounting & Bookkeeping Accounts Payable
  • Process vendor invoices
  • Schedule and issue payments
  • Maintain vendor records
  • Reconcile vendor statements
Accounts Receivable
  • Generate customer invoices
  • Apply customer payments
  • Monitor outstanding balances and collections
  • Resolve billing discrepancies
Banking & Cash Management
  • Perform bank reconciliations
  • Reconcile credit card accounts
  • Monitor daily cash activity
  • Assist with cash flow tracking
Payroll
  • Process or assist with payroll
  • Track commissions, bonuses, and reimbursements
  • Maintain payroll records
Job Costing & Project Accounting
  • Track labor costs by project
  • Allocate material and subcontractor costs
  • Monitor project profitability
  • Compare estimated versus actual job costs
General Accounting
  • Maintain the general ledger
  • Prepare journal entries
  • Assist with month-end close
  • Maintain accurate financial records
Financial Reporting & Analysis
  • Prepare monthly financial reports
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting
  • Analyze profit and loss statements
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations
  • Monitor cash flow
  • Support year-end CPA and tax preparation
  • Develop financial reports for ownership
Growth Opportunities

  • Analyzing job profitability and margins
  • Tracking key financial metrics (KPIs)
  • Identifying cost-saving opportunities
  • Improving accounting processes and workflows
  • Assisting with budgeting and financial planning
  • Participating in leadership discussions
  • Providing financial insights and recommendations
  • Helping support the company's long-term growth strategy
What We're Looking For
  • 2+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, or related financial experience
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
  • Solid understanding of general accounting principles
  • Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and general ledger functions
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience with Quick Books or similar accounting software
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and eager to learn
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
Bonus Points

Experience in restoration, roofing, construction, contracting, or another project-based industry is a plus, especially if you've worked with:

  • Job costing
  • Project accounting
  • Financial reporting
  • Process improvement initiatives
