Crowder self-performs civil, electrical, and mechanical trades on traditional and alternative delivery projects. This is an Assistant Project Manager role within Crowder Construction Company’s Civil & Environmental Division, focusing on water treatment and wastewater treatment plant projects.
Responsibilities- Provide management assistance to multiple projects, help establish project objectives and policies, maintain liaison with clients and prime contracts, and monitor construction and financial activities.
- Provide technical engineering to ensure work complies with engineering standards, codes, specifications, and design instructions for one or more disciplines.
- Create, update, and manage the project schedule.
- Develop the project budget upon assignment and notification of award.
- Assist with preparation of billing for materials and the preparation/submittal of documentation required for change orders.
- Assist with cost analysis for extra work and overall project coordination including subcontractors.
- Review weekly labor reports; advise the project superintendent on crew sizes, production rates, methods of construction, and equipment sizing.
- Prepare and maintain accurate forecasting; communicate changes in the scope of the original contract with engineers/owners and prepare change orders as needed.
- Procure, approve, and track materials to promote timely and efficient construction; prepare and track submittals and obtain required material certifications.
- Maintain project files, current drawings, production records, and process vendor/subcontractor invoices; manage schedule of values and timely payments.
- Write and maintain subcontracts and purchase agreements; ensure submittals are reviewed and submitted in a timely fashion; expedite and track equipment/material delivery.
- Build positive relationships with owners/engineers and ensure project delivery within time and budget; optimize project cash flow and maintain positive subcontractor relations.
- 4-year engineering degree or equivalent required.
- Experience using Primavera P6 or similar software.
- Minimum of five years of extensive experience/knowledge of construction, design, finance, and management; ability to manage a $5 million contract.
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills; valid, non-restrictive driver’s license.
- Monitor safety on projects and administer Crowder’s safety policy; advise on ways to improve site safety.
- Support Crowder’s core values and mission; develop a team attitude and mentor employees; create development plans for subordinates.
