Thisroleisdesignedforsomeonewiththeexpertisetooverseehigh-levelbidreviews,troubleshootproblemsinrealtime,andactasatrustedresourcetobothteammembersandmanagement. What You’llDo- Finalreviewandapprovalofallestimates,budgets,andCORs-ensuring department-wide consistency,pricing accuracy,andadherencetocompanystandards.
- Manageahighvolumeofbidswhilemaintainingprecisionandefficiency
- Leadorprovideinputoncomplexnegotiationsbypresentingcomplete,well-documented proposals.
- Resolvecomplexbidissues,scope discrepancies,andestimationerrorsincollaborationwithGCsandinternalteams
- Takeownershipofurgentestimatingneeds,includingquickturnaroundbudgetsandsalvagingtime-sensitivebidsinitiatedbyothers.
- Maintainandadjustthebidcalendartoreflectshiftingpriorities,resource availability,andprojecturgency.
- Providestrategicinputwithestimatingdecisions,includingdeterminingwhichopportunitiestopursue.
- Analyzehistoricalpricingtoensurecurrentproposalsareaccurate,competitive,andalignedwithestablishedcosttrendsandmargingoals.
- Supportinternalteammembersbyansweringquestionsordirectingthemtotheappropriateresources.
- Meetharddeadlines-evenifitoccasionallyrequiresextendedworkinghours.
- 5+yearsofexperienceincommercialconstructionestimating,preferablywithafocusonglazingsystems.
- Bachelor’sdegreeinengineering,architecture,orconstructionmanagementisaplus,butwealsohighlyvaluehandsonexperience.
- Strongcommandofcurtainwall,storefront,thermal systems,specialty glass,andrelatedmaterials.
- Provenabilitytomanagecompetingprioritiesanddeliverhigh-qualityresultsunderpressure.
- Skilledinbidnegotiation,GCcommunication,andconflictresolution.
- Abilitytoleadthroughexamplewhileservingasaresourceandmentorforjuniorteammembers.
- Exceptionalorganizationalandtimemanagementskills-capableofmaintainingandadjustingafluidbidcalendar.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel ,Outlook,Bluebeam,andfamiliaritywithplatformssuchas
Procore.
- Majorityofthepositionisperformedinanofficesetting,sittingorstandingatacomputerforextendedperiods.
- Abilitytoattendoccasionalsitevisitsandscheduledsitewalksonactiveconstructionsites,whichmayinvolvewalkingorstanding,limitedladderuse,andnormalworkingconditions.
- Occasionalliftingoflightmaterials(upto
25pounds),suchasplansorsamples.
