Our superintendents are responsible for delivering the demolition workforce to the job site and directing their work for the duration of the project. This position is also responsible for ensuring that all needed tools and equipment are delivered to the job site and are accounted for upon leaving. The superintendent must also read the contract documents in order to know the exact scope of work to be performed and direct the workforce accordingly.
Communication with the general contractor’s foreman is essential in order to understand and meet the expectations of the customer.
- Supervise daily on-site demolition activities to ensure high-quality project delivery.
- Coordinate field operations in strict accordance with project plans, structural specifications, and schedules.
- Direct crew activities and delegate responsibilities to maintain strict project timelines and budgets.
- Manage high-risk site safety protocols including fall protection, lift operations, and OSHA compliance standards.
- Resolve real-time technical and logistical issues on-site to prevent project delays or hazards.
- Understand the goals and expectations of the general contractor customer and meet those expectations. Resolve disputes amicably and work to maintain a good working relationship with the general contractor’s foreman.
- Minimum of 3 years of proven on-site construction management leadership experience.
- Demonstrated ability to complete commercial or industrial field operations with minimal oversight.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting detailed project drawings, structural plans, and schedules.
- Absolute willingness to travel up to 40% of working hours to various project assignments.
- Strong communication skills necessary for managing field documentation and team dynamics.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent technical educational background.
- Completed training and certifications including advanced OSHA, Fall Protection, and heavy equipment lift operations.
- Demonstrated experience in training and directing the work of your assigned workforce.
