Middle School Boys Basketball Assistant Coach
We are hiring a part‑time Middle School Boys Basketball Assistant Coach to begin work in the school year. The role focuses on developing Christian virtue and athletic excellence in athletes.
Candidate Attributes- Consistently exhibit love, joy, peace, and spiritual maturity in daily work and relationships with others in the school.
- Maintain a faithful daily walk with Christ and be active in a local Protestant Christian church.
- Work collaboratively and respectfully with other coaches for the betterment of the Stonehaven Basketball program.
- Host a student interest meeting in the fall and explain basic information on the upcoming season.
- Help organize student participation in the summer program (open gyms and external camps), practices during the season, and games.
- Work with team parent‑volunteer to ensure that all parents receive timely communication.
- Maintain a disciplined and orderly team environment.
- Report schedules and results of games to the athletic director for school communication.
- Ensure the safety and well‑being of athletes.
- Nurture, love, and guide students with Biblical principles of competition.
- Dress professionally and appropriately as outlined in the staff handbook.
- Enforce Stonehaven’s discipline policy as outlined in the staff handbook.
- Communicate as needed with parents and the athletic director regarding athlete’s progress and behavior.
- Promote academic integrity and success.
- Coaching experience with a demonstrated passion for training students at the high school level or higher.
- Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, systems, and player development.
- Serves Christ under the authority of a local Protestant Christian church whose beliefs are in agreement with Stonehaven’s Statement of Faith.
- Expected to comply with all applicable policies of Stonehaven School and all administrative directives.
- Possess a love for God, students, the sport they coach, parents, and the school.
