They work closely with prospective and admitted students, families, counselors, alumni, and other key influencers in the college decision-making process. Counselors are responsible for managing a territory or population, using data-informed strategies to support enrollment goals while providing guidance on admission requirements, timelines, and next steps. Their efforts ensure a student-centered process aligned with Life University’s mission, values, and institutional priorities.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Manage a designated territory or student population using data-informed strategies to support institutional enrollment goals.
Build and maintain relationships with prospective students, families, counselors, and key stakeholders to guide them through the enrollment process.
Deliver accurate, timely information regarding academic programs, application procedures, admissions criteria, and student services.
Represent the University at recruitment events, campus tours, high school visits, fairs, and conferences, both domestically and internationally.
Develop and implement recruitment strategies, presentations, and events to attract qualified students.
Use University systems (CRM, SIS) to manage communications, application workflows, reporting, and territory performance.
Counsel prospective students from inquiry through enrollment, providing updates, guidance, and support with applications, admissions, and pre-enrollment.
Lead individual and group campus tours, and assist with on-campus recruitment activities.
Maintain compliance with FERPA and university policies in handling confidential student data.
Collaborate with internal teams and leadership, sharing outcomes and making recommendations to enhance recruitment and enrollment efforts.
Provide high-quality, student-centered service in all job functions.
Demonstrate empathy, inclusivity, and cultural sensitivity with colleagues, students, and families.
Foster a collaborative, team-oriented work environment.
Respect diverse perspectives and promote an inclusive campus and work culture.
Anticipate and respond to student needs with professionalism and care.
Uphold the standards of Life University’s Serving Lasting Purpose (SLP) model in all interactions.
Serve as a campus resource for prospective student-related inquiries and cross-department collaboration.

Bachelor’s degree
Strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
Willingness to travel (including nights/weekends)
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Valid U.S. Driver’s License is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Two or more years of experience in college admissions, recruitment, higher education, or related fields
Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Recruit)
WORKING CONDITIONS Ability to work independently with general supervision while managing time and priorities effectively.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage professionally in a fast-paced, dynamic, and diverse environment.
Proficiency in basic math and computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, CRM systems, and databases.
Willingness and ability to travel approximately 70% of the time using various modes of transportation.
Demonstrated organizational abilities, attention to detail, and a proactive, self-starting work style.
The ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality.
Commitment to providing outstanding service to students, families, and colleagues.
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods, travel long distances by car, and work evenings/weekends as needed.
Must be able to lift and transport materials for events (up to 45 lbs).Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
