Education:

Qualified candidates must hold, or be eligible to hold, a Georgia teaching certificate in Middle Grades or 6-12 in the field of the job posted.
Advanced degree preferred.

Major Responsibilities:

Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance

Demonstrates an understanding of the curriculum, subject content, pedagogical knowledge and needs of students.

Plans using state and district standards and curricula, data, effective strategies and resources to meet the needs of all students.

Provides appropriate content and skill development which address individual learning differences.

Selects a variety of diagnostic, formative and summative assessment strategies that are valid and appropriate.

Gathers, analyzes and uses relevant data to measure student progress and inform instruction.

Provides a safe, well-managed environment that is conducive to learning.

Creates a student centered academic environment in which teaching and learning occur at high levels and students are self-directed learners.

Exhibits a commitment to professional ethics and the school's mission. Participates in professional growth opportunities to support student learning.

Communicates effectively with students, parents or guardians, district and school personnel and other stakeholders in ways that enhance student learning.

Physical Demands:

Frequent walking, sitting, and standing for extended periods.
Ability to lift and carry instructional materials and equipment up to 25 pounds.
Dexterity to write on a board, operate a computer, and use other classroom technology.
Occasional bending, stooping, and reaching.
Clear speech and hearing abilities for effective communication.
Visual acuity to read printed and digital materials.
