Latin Teacher

The Walker School seeks a Latin Teacher to teach middle and/or upper school Latin in a rigorous, student-centered program. Responsibilities include planning engaging lessons, fostering strong reading, grammar, and cultural understanding, and differentiating instruction for varied learners. The teacher will advise students, communicate regularly with families, collaborate with colleagues, and contribute to the life of this independent, college-preparatory community through clubs, activities, and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Latin lessons for middle and/or upper school students
• Develop students' proficiency in Latin vocabulary, grammar, reading, and translation
• Integrate Roman history and culture to deepen student understanding
• Differentiate instruction to support varied learning styles and abilities
• Design and grade assessments aligned with curriculum standards
• Maintain regular communication with students and families
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum, pedagogy, and school initiatives
• Serve as an advisor or mentor to students as assigned
• Participate in professional development and faculty meetings
• Contribute to school life through clubs, activities, or events
