At Lockheed Martin Aeronautics, we deliver breakthrough capabilities and landmark aircraft that continually redefine flight. We are seeking a technical Subject Matter Expert for the Materials & Process (M&P) team which supports multiple programs within Aeronautics. The selected candidate will:
Provide technical leadership for Parts, Materials and Processes for Aeronautics Engineering, resolving technical and operational issues, with focus on proactive risk assessments of critical material supply and process optimization to enable production and program execution. This will include oversight of material and process statement of work at suppliers
Drive standardization and 1
LMX consistency to enable quality and harmonizationHave expertise and engagement in industry specifications and standards to enable efficient execution
Partner with Aeronautics Structures and Manufacturing teams to insure mature and optimized M&P solution
Partner with LM materials technologies teams to identify, analyze, mature and implement new M&P capabilities into our programs
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering technical discipline such as Mechanical, Materials, or Composite Engineering
Experience in technical leadership of Materials and Processes
Demonstrated mentoring and technical guidance of less experienced engineers.
Experience in hypersonic and high temperature materials
Understanding of materials and model-based engineering
Skills:
Experience with Research & Development
Experience with Energy conversion and Storage Materials
Experience writing proposals, statements of work, and project schedules
Experience with modeling and simulation tools
Collaborative materials technology leadership to advance new M&P capabilities

The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position:4×10 hour day, 3 days off per week
