About the Role:
As a Civil Engineer/Project Manager, you will report to a firm principal and contribute to a diverse and technically complex portfolio of engineering projects, many involving innovative designs in environmentally sensitive settings. You will work on a wide range of assignments that may include solid waste management, stormwater systems, environmental compliance and permitting, remediation, and water and wastewater infrastructure. In this role, you will serve as a project manager supporting engineering projects for SME’s Marietta, Georgia, office, acting as a technical lead, coordinating project teams, and working directly with clients and regulatory agencies.
- Manage engineering projects from concept through completion, ensuring schedule and budget objectives are met
- Perform civil engineering and design work, including site grading, stormwater management systems, and pump and piping systems
- Prepare permit applications, engineering design specifications, technical reports, and construction documents
- Provide construction engineering inspection, oversight, and documentation services
- Conduct environmental field work as needed, including monitoring, sampling, inspections, and site assessments
- Support engineering and project management efforts for the Marietta, Georgia, office
- Maintain strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to develop practical, cost-effective solutions for clients
Qualifications:
- B.S. degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) license, or willingness to obtain
- Experience in project management and construction engineering or construction contract administration
- Proficiency in civil engineering design, technical reporting, and preparation of specifications
- Experience with site grading, stormwater management, and pump and piping system design
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD software
- Experience with local, state, and federal permitting processes
- Strong oral and written communication skills
