The SR400 Express Lanes Project is a transformative $4.6 billion infrastructure initiative led by SR400 Constructors, a 50/50 joint venture between Flatiron Dragados and ACCIONA. Commissioned by the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) and Georgia State Road Tollway Authority (SRTA), the project will add two 16-mile express lanes from Sandy Springs MARTA Station (Exit
5) to McFarland (Exit 12), enhancing mobility along one of Georgia’s busiest corridors. With a peak workforce of over 500, the project also includes dedicated bus rapid transit stations and key bridge refurbishments. Construction is set to begin in late 2025, with substantial completion anticipated in 2031.
Responsibilities
- Develop structural calculation models for bridge structures in concrete and steel.
- Prepare technical design documentation, including reports and engineering deliverables.
- Collaborate with the drafting team to produce detailed and accurate construction drawings.
- Apply relevant structural codes and standards, including national and international regulations (Eurocodes, AASHTO, ACI, CSA, AS, etc.).
- Work simultaneously on multiple projects, managing priorities and deadlines effectively.
- Support the Technical Director by providing accurate analyses, technical input, and engineering solutions.
- Participate in multidisciplinary teamwork, ensuring smooth coordination with other engineering and project teams.
- Contribute to project quality, consistency, and technical excellence throughout all stages of design.
Qualifications
- Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent; MSc preferred.
- 5–10 years of experience in structural design and analysis of bridge structures.
- Strong knowledge of concrete and steel structural design, including relevant codes and regulations.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software such as SAP
2000, CUBUS, Sofistik, and similar tools.
