Senior Mechanical Project Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer that will support the North American Warehouse Solutions Team.  Vanderlande’s Engineering Department is responsible for the design, specification, and commissioning of Material Handling Systems, Warehouse Automation and Parcel Sortationsystems for our customers throughout North America. In this position, you will be working with an engineering project team in the development of an automated warehouse or parcel sortation system.

You will be responsible for ensuring the design meets the customer requirements, is coordinated with other trades to minimize conflicts during installation, can be installed with efficiency, and maintain excellent communication with the site team. Success in this role involves the ability to balance the technical requirements of the role while also having the soft skills to collaborate with and motivate the engineering team.

It also involves working closely with stakeholders from other disciplines and other departments to balance priorities, improve processes and satisfy a complex set of goals. Success will require strong technical skills, creativity, strong interpersonal skills, drive, and passion. A successful candidate will demonstrate a keen intuition for when to attempt to solve problems on their own and when to enlist the help of other experienced leaders.

Create a motor manifest with respect to electrical and controls engineering requirements Minimumof 8 years of relative work experience(or Associate ME/ET with 12 years related experience)
Ability to think conceptually (overall system) and translate this into a detailed system design Ability to work in an entrepreneurial organization where cooperating with others and being a team member is natural Ability to work autonomously or in a team Motivator and ability to work well with team members Ability to quickly assess a situation and take appropriate action Must have the ability to properly prioritize work/activities Possess a strong ability to solve problems and research solutions Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills Ability to drive process improvements Experience in project management or leading teams Ability/Experience using Project Planning & Deliverables Tracking Ability to use AutoCAD 2D & 3D Ability to use Auto Desk Suite of tools (Revit, Navisworks, Vault, BIM
