Description
A Cyber Architect will join a team of highly skilled engineers to design and develop secure and high‑quality products. The role focuses on ensuring that cyber security requirements are embedded early in the product development lifecycle for Air or Weapon systems. The candidate will lead cyber risk analysis, develop mitigations, and drive plans of action to achieve a cyber‑resilient architecture.
Responsibilities- Define, decompose, allocate, assess, and implement cyber security requirements into system architectures.
- Participate in working groups, design reviews, and formal artifact reviews with other subject matter experts.
- Lead cyber risk analysis and security assessment methods, identifying mitigations for vulnerabilities, feature changes, or obsolescence.
- Develop documentation for installations and configurations required to obtain Authorizations to Operate (ATOs).
- Drive Plans of Actions and Milestones (POAMs) to mitigate open cyber risks.
- Support model‑based engineering initiatives including interpreting existing documentation, developing models, and conducting experiments with cutting‑edge technology.
- Build relationships with DoD technology performers to enhance efficiencies and effectiveness.
- Communicate effectively with technical and non‑technical audiences and facilitate collaborative planning and prioritization.
- Mentor junior‑level team members.
- Travel as required.
- B.S. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Security, Information Technology, or equivalent applied experience.
- 3+ years of Systems Engineering experience.
- 4+ years of experience with System and/or Security Architecture.
- U.S. citizenship and Secret clearance with investigation updated within the last 5 years.
- Experience with Joint Special Access Program (SAP) Implementation Guide (JSIG), CNSSI 1253, and NIST SP 800‑37 RMF.
- Execution of Systems Engineering processes (requirements management, decomposition, system modeling, integration & test).
- Analysis, decomposition, and allocation of system architectures and requirements.
- Embedded platform software engineering/development experience.
- Engineering change and configuration control processes experience.
- IASAE Level II – IAW 8570 or higher certification (CASP+ CE, CISSP, CSSLP).
- Agile project management tool proficiency (JIRA, Version One, etc.).
- Development of security architecture representations and system design modeling (UML, SysML, Rhapsody, Cameo, Magic Draw).
- Vulnerability analysis, automated assessment tools, risk identification, and mitigation.
- Experience with real‑time embedded systems (aviation) and RTOS (Green Hills INTEGRITY, LynxOS, VxWorks, Yocto).
- Knowledge of Open Mission Systems (OMS) and UCI message set.
- Technical trade studies, experiments, and assessments.
- Compliance and penetration testing methodologies.
- Certification test procedures (CTPs) and NIST 800‑53A assessment methods.
- Anti‑tamper, crypto/key management experience.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience in an aerospace design environment with DoD customers.
This position requires a U.S. citizen with a Secret clearance and investigation date within the last 5 years.
Work Schedule4 × 10‑hour day, 3 days off per week.
