Description
You will be the Manufacturing Engineer - Electrical Planner Level 2 for the Electrical Pre‑Planning Team which is responsible for initiating manufacturing planning activities and establishing the foundation for successful product‑interface execution.
What you’ll be doingAs the Manufacturing Engineer - Electrical Planner Level 2 you will be responsible for leading early‑stage planning for new product introductions and translating electrical design requirements into actionable manufacturing plans.
- Lead the early‑stage planning process, defining manufacturing requirements and aligning them with product design.
- Create pre‑plans covering tooling needs, material flow, and labor‑charging requirements to set realistic execution targets.
- Partner with electrical engineering, design engineering, supply‑chain, quality, and production teams to capture interface requirements and close design‑to‑manufacturing gaps.
- Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date planning documentation, work instructions, and best‑practice guidelines in accordance with AMMM standards.
- Provide technical guidance to peers, fostering a collaborative environment that drives high‑quality results.

Who you areA collaborative, detail‑oriented engineer with a strong grasp of electrical systems and a proven ability to bridge design and manufacturing. You thrive on teamwork, continuous learning, and delivering precise, high‑impact solutions.
Basic qualifications- Experience reading, analyzing, and applying blueprints, schematics, and tool design documentation to support manufacturing processes.
- Experience with standard planning workflows, work instructions, and documentation required for fabrication, assembly, and installation activities.
- Experience with common fabrication methods (e.g., machining, welding, additive manufacturing, sheet metal forming, wire harnesses development) and associated procedural controls.
- Experience creating, reviewing, and validating BOMs, ensuring accurate part counts, material specifications, and cost data for downstream activities.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate technical concepts for cross‑functional audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
- Able to evaluate engineering change proposals, assess their effect on manufacturability, cost, schedule, and quality, and provide data‑driven recommendations to mitigate risks and optimize production readiness.
- Well‑rounded knowledge of AMMM aircraft, mainly C‑130. F‑22 and F‑16 are a plus.
- Working knowledge of MES and ERP/MRP systems (e.g., Computer Aided Process Planning [CAPP] and Shop Floor Manager [SFM], SAP, Siemens Capital, 3DX DELMIA Apriso).
- Proven track record of driving process improvements that enhance manufacturability and reduce cost.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
