Responsibilities
As an Aircraft Maintenance Support Engineer Associate you will write, validate, and maintain organizational‑level technical publications for on‑equipment maintenance of C‑130 B‑H, C‑130J or C‑5 aircraft. Publications are developed in OMMS and S1000D formats and maintained in VISTA and TCAMS using SGML and XML.
Responsibilities focus on the creation and maintenance of operation and maintenance publications for complex aircraft electrical and avionics systems, including automatic flight control, communications, aviation identification, radar, surveillance, and electronic warfare systems.
You will interact and communicate with customers, engineering and other organizations to define aircraft maintenance requirements. You must possess a Mechanical, Aerospace or Electrical Engineering degree or have extensive knowledge of aircraft avionics systems, military specifications, and logistic support concepts, and be able to read and interpret wiring and schematic diagrams. Prior military or industry experience with aircraft avionics and integrated aircraft systems is preferred.
BasicQualifications
- Authoring of technical manuals or aircraft maintenance experience, C‑130 preferred.
- Experience with military or commercial aircraft maintenance technical orders, manuals, or illustrated parts documentation.
- Supporting aircraft organizational maintenance activities.
- U.S. Citizen; position requires special access.
- Experience with S1000D, XML, Contenta, Jira, Agile, Project Management, Excel, Budget Management or AI implementation.
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certificate.
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering (desirable but not required).
The annual base salary ranges are:
- California, Massachusetts, New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC: $52,300 – $92,230.
- Major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, New York: $60,200 – $104,190.
Position is incentive plan eligible.
