Description
The Test and Evaluation (T&E) Marietta Test Operations Manager leads and organizes the Flight Test Engineer (FTE) and Flight Test Control Engineer (FTCE) elements for all Marietta Test & Evaluation programs. Responsibilities include test planning, preparation, and execution of aircraft testing, as well as schedule and budget management of the Test Operations team, utilizing EVMS. The role demands advanced interpersonal skills for cross‑team collaboration, coaching of the Marietta Test Ops team, and coordination with program management, site leadership, and other T&E leadership to ensure program requirements are met.
The manager must communicate effectively with internal teams, USG customers, international customers, Flight Line Maintenance, and flight crews to ensure aircraft configuration and crew readiness, maintaining a highly organized, reliable, and multi‑tasking approach in a dynamic Flight Test environment.
- Must be able to obtain a security clearance.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited college.
- Demonstrated leadership experience.
- Demonstrated experience with Flight Test Operations, flight line operations, and flight testing.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including briefings for program leadership and customers.
- Control Account Manager (CAM) / Earned Value Management System (EVMS) experience.
- Strong organizational, planning, and time‑management skills.
- Experience with Air Mobility and Maritime Mission (AMMM) programs and aircraft (C‑130, C‑5, P‑3).
- Strong presentation skills and ability to address complex matters with senior leadership.
- Personality and demeanor suited to the highly dynamic Flight Test environment, with adaptability to changing dates and priorities.
- Familiarization with aircraft avionics and mechanical systems.
- Demonstrated corrective action and problem‑solving skills.
- Self‑motivated and capable of working with minimal management oversight.
