Basic Qualifications:
Four (4) years' experience within the past twelve (12) years performing Military or Civilian flight line avionics integrated systems maintenance, functional checkout, preflight, troubleshooting, and correction of flight squawks on either fixed wing or rotary aircraft. Experience must have been actual flight line work on live Aircraft Avionics Integrated Systems (to include radio, radar and navigation). The following education and/or experience which was received within the past twelve (12) years may be used to offset a portion of the first two (2) years of experience requirement as stated below:
Avionics technical school training may be included in the four-year (4) minimum requirement for persons spending four (4) years in Military service. A two-year (2) /Associate Degree program in Avionics Electronics Technology may be substituted for one (1) year of experience. A four-year (4) Bachelors Degree program in Avionics/Electronics may be substituted for two (2) years of experience. Each year of Active Reserve/National Guard Avionics Integrated System duty may be substituted for two (2) months of experience up to a maximum of sixteen (16) months.
NOTE:
"Live" aircraft refers to aircraft with all functional systems operable and with the aircraft's fuel and oxygen systems activated.

Job Description:
You will be the Avionics Flight line Technician for the team which is responsible for testing, modifying, and making the final operations checkout of entire prototype or new electronic or avionics systems in aircraft.
What You Will Be Doing:
As the Avionics Flight line Technician, you will be responsible for testing, modifying, and making the final operations checkout of entire prototype or new electronic or avionics systems in aircraft, prior and subsequent to acceptance or test flight.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Testing and modifying entire prototype or new electronic or avionics systems in aircraft
- Troubleshooting malfunctioning systems, diagnosing trouble, reworking, replacing or relocating integral components
- Making adjustments, calibrating, and troubleshooting systems to ensure proper integration and functioning
- Verifying the proper functioning and acceptability of entire prototype or new electronic and avionics systems and signing off such systems for initial and subsequent flights
- Collaborating with vendor and customer representatives and responsible company personnel in the correction of problems regarding the design or malfunctioning of aircraft prototype or new electronic and avionics systems and components

Who You Are:
The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled and experienced avionics technician with a strong knowledge of electronic and avionics theory, practice, and procedure. You will have excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to work with complex blueprints and circuit diagrams, and a second-class Radio-Telephone Operator's license or better.

Work Schedule Information:
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
